Samsung’s latest 2TB T5 EVO Portable SSD carries at $230 MSRP and is now down at $160

Reg. $190+ $160
Samsung T5 EVO Portable SSD

Amazon is now offering a notable deal on Samsung’s latest portable SSD with the 2TB T5 EVO down at $159.99 shipped. While we have seen a few short-lived offers for less, this one carries a regular price at $230 directly from Samsung where it is on sale for $170. This model debuted late last year and sold for $190 right into 2024 at Amazon. Today’s deal is within about $10 of the lowest prices we have tracked outside of a brief offer at $145 that very few people would have had a chance to score. The T5 EVO lineup features a refreshed form-factor from what we have seen from the popular Samsung portable SSDs over the last few years, complete with a rectangular design and a metal carabiner loop along the top – it has also functioned flawlessly for me since going hands-on 6 months ago. More details below.

Just after seeing a new Amazon all-time low on the brand’s new flash drive-sized SSD, today’s Newegg deals of the day have the 1TB SK hynix Beetle X31 Portable SSD on sale at $69.99 shipped. This model debuted last summer at $93 and currently sells for $90 at Amazon. Today’s offer comes within $5 of the all-time low and delivers the lowest price we can find. This 1TB solution is now $10 under the newer Tube T31 model from the brand that comes in a smaller form-factor, but that one isn’t quite as fast and doesn’t include the USB-C connectivity you’ll get on the golden Beetle model. Head below for more details.

Rare deal knocks AKAI’s MPK Mini Play MK3 MIDI keyboard with OLED display to $129

Amazon is now offering a relatively rare price drop on the AKAI Professional MPK Mini Play MK3 MIDI keyboard controller at $129 shipped. This is a regularly $149 controller that doesn’t often see price drops of any kind. While we did see very limited and short-lived deals at Amazon in the $110 to $113 for a few days, this offer is otherwise the best we have tracked since its release. Landing as the latest MPK Mini Play model, it combines the brand’s usual MIDI controller setup for your DAW, but also features some built-in sound banks and on-the-go features as well. HyperX’s QuadCast S USB Mic comes wrapped in customizable RGB lighting from $107 (33% off)

Amazon is now offering the HyperX QuadCast S RGB USB Condenser Microphone in white for $107.24 shipped. Regularly $160, this is 33% off the going rate and the lowest we can find. Today’s deal on the white model is the lowest price we have tracked since limited $100 and $103 offers over the holidays last year and, otherwise, mark the best we have seen on this one. As far as the black model goes, it is currently down at $123.41 shipped, from the same regular price coming within roughly $20 of the all-time low. Detailed in our our hands-on review, the QuadCast S is centered around a condenser capsule with your choice of four pickup patterns (stereo, omnidirectional, cardioid, and bidirectional) to support a wide-range of recording scenarios from up close and personal streaming to more conversational setups. But the first thing you’ll like notice is the wrap-around RBG lighting treatment, not unlike the new Razer model we reviewed that sells for $130 shipped. The radiant RGB lighting features “dynamic effects for an eye-catching shot of customizable style” by way of the HyperX NGENUITY software and joins a built-in anti-shock and vibration mount to reduce unwanted noise in your recordings. More details below.

Today’s deal comes in to repeat the trend as a $10 markdown ($30 off its original MSRP), returning costs to the all-time lowest price we have tracked.

For further comparison, it is now a few bucks under the price of the much older and slower Crucial X6 1TB Portable SSD. Get pro-grade sound with Universal Audio’s microphones now down even lower at $239 ($50 off)

Update: The Universal Audio SD-1 Standard Dynamic Microphone has now dropped even lower at Amazon to $239 shipped. Regularly $299, this is the second-best price ever – it has only been lower once before today. Details down below/.

While it might not be as flashy as the new Razer Seiren V3 Chroma wrapped in multi-color lighting (here’s our review), folks looking for a more serious pro-grade recording mic can now score the Universal Audio SD-1 Standard Dynamic Microphone down at $249 shipped. Regularly $299, this UA mic is now $50 off the going rate for the lowest price we can find. While we did see it go for less once last fall, this is matching the best otherwise. Universal Audio is a beloved professional recording brand that tapped a legendary mic designer to take the helm on its SD-1 (more details on that right here), offering folks a chance at the UA sound for far less than some of its other options – they can sell for as much $6,000 or more. All of the details are in our launch coverage and we will break it down further after the fold.

This is a new 2024 low and only the second offers of the year. Back when I reviewed the new Satechi Pro Slim hub, I found it to be the perfect option for 15-inch M2 MacBook Air. Less than a year later, that sentiment carries over to the new M3 models that Apple just launched earlier this spring.
